Hot Toys is no stranger to Superman, having put its insanely detailed spin on Brandon Routh's likeness from Superman Returns a few years ago. As striking as that toy may have been, however, there's something almost haunting about the toymaker's take on Christopher Reeve from 1978's hyper iconic Superman: The Movie. Following a round of teaser images earlier this month, HT has finally unveiled a gallery showcasing their upcoming 1/6 scale Superman and its accessories to the fullest. Check them out after the jump.
Headed to retail by late 2011, the figure will stand 30 cm tall and feature more than 30 points of articulation plus three pairs of interchangeable hands. Each head sculpt is painted by hand which probably has something to do with why you can see practically every Kryptonian pore on the toy's face.
The figure also comes packed with a Fortress of Solitude stand and a Superman nameplate bearing the movie logo. A hunk of Kryptonite will also be available through currently unannounced special channels.
According to Hot Toys' official press release, "A portion of this collectible figure's sales benefits will be donated to the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation by Hot Toys Limited," which longtime fans will likely appreciate.
